-70°C low temperature test according ISO 6259-1 (Tensile Properties) and ISO 178 (Flexural Properties) on our LT NOCX HDPE pipes in grey color passed successfully by reaching approx. 95% of the 23°C values both for just the pipes and the pipe welding.

PESTEC offers special deep gap maching technologies for special fittings and fittings used in double wall systems or others.

Our new IP 5 HDPE and PP duct designed with spiral corrugations are produced in Europe to improve in much shorter lead times to serve the European market. The design is based on actual FIB 75 recommendations with the same properties as our well tested and sold IP 4 PE and PP ducts.

Special telescopic segmental bridge couplers for internal post-tensioning ducts used in huge tunnel segments installed for a subsea tunnel have been developed and supplied. One of the challenges were the extreme small production tolerances of just 1 mm needed for the perfect tightness and sliding performance during the installation.

Our DHP Double Wall HDPE Half-Pipes with external helix have been post-equipped with additional, confidential customer designed surface treatments from PESTEC in a pop-up factory. The double wall half pipes have been selected caused by the excellent pipe stiffness fully comparable with a Solid HDPE pipe once clipped together by the integrated lock section. The lock section is designed for just one single half pipe closing operation. Once closed, the back-hold system does not allow any opening again. The advantage by this is the very durable connection even statically checked in a FEM static calculation.

Special pipe storage racks are used for pipes with sensitive surface treatments to avoid damages, ovalizations or other deformations during storage at the factory.

PESTEC supplies HDPE pipes 90 mm SDR 17,6 with very low tolerances in individual length up to 320 m in coils. No need anymore for supply on reels which is much more expensive and taking extra costs for special transports and empty return to the factory.

Mining ventilation pipes made of PESTEC fire retardant FR HDPE sheets in customized yellow-green color have passed the CSA FR testing with excellent results and used in mining application all over North America. Size 1600 mm HDPE pipe with multiple special S- Bend Segments and special design water tight steel pipe to HDPE socket for a subsea cooling water pipeline for Stockholm power plant have been designed, supplied installed by us. The design was based on the photogrammetry software data based on divers photo measurements. Max considered installation tolerance was 30 mm. The different sections have been successfully connected from experienced divers with the stainless steel flanges behind the HDPE stub ends. The replacement of corroded steel pipe sections by our HDPE sections just took 3 days, so even less than planned. Achieving perfect tightness of the new line reduced the vacuum sucking water temperature by 3°C below the clients expected values and is saving him huge costs, so the investment seems to be amortized in shortest time.

The installation of the with electro fusion welding bands equipped split couplers is done in multiple steps. Surface preparation, split couplers tightly clamping using a steel clamp, electrofusion welding by welding processor, cooling, radial top groove closing by hat gas welding rod and longitudinal welding or the split grooves compete the installation. The final appearance looks professional and as an integrated design solution. The durability and uv-resistance is the same as our NOCX HDPE Stay Pipes.

Our just 15 mm thickness FPB Blanket 1100-60-300 has successfully passed third party laboratory test in Germany. DHPS half pipes with external helical ribs have been used for retrofit of a stay cable bridge in France. Pressure tightness was requested due to re-injection of the cables. Radial connection was executed by butt fusion.

Our pressure tight single wall half pipes with incorporated sealing and click connection have been successfully used for offshore riser pipe retrofit. The system includes special end fittings and pipe to pipe connections. The whole section was injected using a hydrophobic injection material. Installation in the ex-zone by industrial climbers was restricted to the use of non-electrical tools only so needing a simple and fast but nevertheless excellent installation method.

Our SHPS Half pipes are available in all individual custom sizes from 50 – 1200 mm with hydrostatic pressure tightness of up to 3.0 bars.

Inspectors of several anchors of the Provencher Stay Cable Bridge in Winnipeg/Canada observed excellent conditions of the strands, like new.
PESTEC Gel-Epoxy has been the choice to fill the anchors in the year of initial installation in 2002 for long-term protection of the anchors in this most of the year cold and humid area of Manitoba.

The bridge owner was excited about the excellent results and so reduced the number of anchor inspections from 10 to 4, since all 4 anchors were in perfect condition. Also the refill was done again with Gel-Epoxy.

To meet the requirements of the Canadian Food Authorities, more than 200 m of HDPE pipes fittings and electro fusion couplers of size 200 mm have been coated by using our PU Paint system. The requirement asked for perfect bonding of durable high thickness coating in white color with already installed PE 100 pipes, so preferred by brush painting method due to limited acces. Further requirements were high uv-resistance due to partly exposed installation, seawater and humidity resistance, ambient temperature variation resistance and suitability for daily cleaning under high pressure by using standard detergents. The short drying period of our PU paint system allowed a very fast coating of all pipes.

PESTEC has started to supply first quantities of total
115.000 m IP 4 100 mm duct for new Bagalore elevated
Expressway constructed by segmental bridge method.

The pipes are supplied in fixed length and connected
using our PF couplers and the total installation period
is estimated for 14 month.

IP 4 Duct approval according to Indian IRC 18 was
achieved by verification tests.

PESTEC NOCX pipes will be used on new Audubon Bridge
crossing Mississippi river near Baton Rouge in Louisiana.

More than 20000 m stay cable pipes for the 482 m main
span bridge with the 2x 153 m pylons are needed.

Owners and designers approach is to design the bridge
similar to the approach of 19th century local residing, very
renowned artist John James Audubon, who dedicated his
life to paint all of the birds in America also valuing smallest
details and their relationship to the surrounding
environment.

Mr. Audubon inspired the engineers to the goal to ensure
the bridge is not built in a vacuum, so rather to get an
integral part of the surrounding landscape.
So the theme selected for this project is ‘In harmony with
nature’.

The stay pipe color is burnt umber, a common color found
in the birds native to this area and has the advantage to be
even visible to the travelling public against cloudy or hazy
sky, so at all weather conditions.

PESTEC introduce advanced PUR HMD polyurethane quality
optimized for hydrolyse resistance microbe-resistance, low
temperature resistance by also absorbing dynamic stresses
in outdoor use.

First advantage is a new production technology for this
material needing More simple tools only and so saving high
injection tool costs as needed for other material. Either
small quantities of individual shapes, e.g. like for stay cable
boots, now can be offered for affordable prices.

Second advantage is the availability of a big variety of
colors.

Compared with CR – polychloroprene (common brand
name Neoprene) and CSM – chlorosulfonated polyethylene
(common brand name Hypalon) our PUR HMD material
provide excellent weather resistance in black color
and good weather resistance in other colors where CR and
CSM only reach medium to good results.

While wear resistance of PUR HMD is better, all other
mechanical properties like tensile strength, aging, ozone,
abrasion, temperature range and compression set are
very similar with CR and CSM.

PESTEC’s Visco elastic gel of epoxy polymer is an invention
for long term corrosion protection of high performance
materials in civil structures.

The material has been successfully used on several projects
e.g. for stay cable anchor protection.

Special formulated Gel Epoxy resin and hardener
components are mixed at ambient temperatures, easily
injected to smallest cavities because of it’s high viscosity
( like water) with low pressure during 12-24 hours and
cross linked during polymerization to a visco elastic
polymer with adhesive properties as well as damping
properties to the system.

Perfect corrosion protection has been approved by several
tests, e.g. 3 month exposure in salt spray test and salt-
water immersion test as well temperature test. In addition
PESTEC Gel Epoxy provide excellent alkaline resistance
during 6 month cement grout compatibility test and
excellent mechanical behaviour in cycle thermal test.

It was further approved to stop started corrosion at it’s level.
Other benefits are volumetric material shrinkage, no
material diffusion to other materials and no temperature
increase during polymerization.

Product Information: Gel Epoxy

First use of our DHPS Half pipes with incorporated
longitudinal sealing for a project in La Reunion with special
fire protection requirement. Half pipe color will be white.
PESTEC uses the same well developed and tested white
NOCX color we also used for several projects for
solid pipes.

Our Half pipes will be installed over the bundles of HDPE
coated strands which are covered with special 10 mm
double layer fire protection blankets. The fire protection
blankets did pass the required 1000 °C hydrocarbon
fire test with a duration of 1 hour by keeping the steel
strand temperature less than 100°C.

Installation will be made by pressing the half pipes
together and using our click system and lock them in
position. Full strength radial joints are secured by butt
welded using our special half pipe butt welding equipment.
To complete the system, special components to connect
the half pipes to pylon and deck will be supplied from
PESTEC. Our experiences and references convinced the
project designers and project engineers to choose our
half pipes for this special application.

New extra large diameter HDPE pressure pipe for main
application of raw and potable water supply.

The development of a new HDPE raw material compound
containing fibre snippets enables us to offer the unique
FKS PEG Pressure Pipes which are available in sizes
1000 – 4000 mm for pressure resistance up to 10 bar in
stiffness classes 2 – 12 SN according ISO 9969.

FKS PEG Pressure Pipes have solid wall and smooth inner
and outer surface ensures best hydraulic properties and
the outstanding HDPE properties ensure best chemical
resistance and low abrasion.

Our new FKS PEG Pressure Pipes are jointed with the
well-established electro-fusion socket.
All kind of fittings as bends, elbows, reductions and flanges
are available.

The production is based on the well experienced
FKS profile pipe production.

Swinging cables during high wind crashed against street
lamps on Dubrovnik Bridge, Croatia and smashed the
NOCX-HDPE pipes in about 10 m height in sections of
about 60 cm.

The smashed sections were carefully cur out using a
special circular saw with adjustable height to avoid
cutting into the inner HDPE coated strands and our special
electro fusion half pipe repair couplers of same stay pipe
colour were successfully installed.

Our repair coupler system is designed to replace the
original stay pipe section by taking the same calculated
loads of pipe and welding forces.

PESTEC has developed a connection between HDPE and
corrugated PT steel ducts for professional look and
performance to avoid standard methods of sealing and
taping of port vents in the future.

Installation is easy and fast. It needs just to drill a hole
into the steel duct, to heat up the HDPE grout port same
as in our well experienced grout port welding system, to
fix heated grout port in the steel duct and to spread it by
using our special tool. The HDPE grout port is tight
and tough fixed in the hole and can not be removed.

Standard spiral corrugated vent pipe 21/28 mm can be
connected to the grout ports. Modified grout ports to fit
to smooth vent ducts or other customized solutions
can be offered.

Best quality moulded electro fusion couplers in NOFX HDPE
colored material including bar code label to use with all
kind of universal electro fusion welding equipments.

Available in all colors of our big color variety and produced
of best uv- and material stabilized NOFX HDPE color to
match with our NOCX pipes.

The electro fusion coupler are designed for possible butt
welding to pipe if considered to use as telescopic sleeve.
Perfect function and tightness either if manufactured with
sliding performance property. Of course successful tests
acc standard e-fitting tests have been achieved.

Available in all standard sizes 110-630 mm in SDR 11-32
as well as in all special sizes on request.

Please note minimum order quantity of 50 pc. required.
For quantities less than 50 pc. we still provide our
individual manufactured special NOFX electro fusion
coupler in sizes up to 315 mm in SDR 17-32.

To protect both sides of the 2500 m long and 10 m
high facade of the railway approach of historical
Antwerp Railway Station from year 1905 still in
operation today, the new HSL - High Speed Railway
Station is designed on underground levels under
the present rails.

Construction method are tunnel works using
prestressed beams and excavate the ground part
by part to reach -2 level underground.

More than 17000 m PESTEC IP 3 M PP Duct of
sizes ID 85 and ID 100 have been installed for
corrosion protection of internal post-tensioning of
the beams. To complete the corrosion protection
system, PESTEC PF duct couplers, grout ports
welded to the ducts, as well as vent pipes, valves
and end caps have been used for perfect grouting.

IP 3 Duct approval was achieved by meeting the
strict project requirements.

We proudly received the first contract worldwide using OD
400 mm HDPE pipe to cover the biggest stays ever used.

7000 m NOCX HDPE pipe OD 400 mm SDR 21 including
external spiral in grey color will be installed on a US bridge
in the state of Maine starting April next year.

For this new size a new tool for the external spiral needs
to be produced.
We will also supply several components in the same
grey color to complete the system.

extraordinary features in uv stability, heat and micro
crack resistance on more than 100 projects worldwide for
very competitive price, were chosen from the project
designers, project engineers as well the subcontractor
as the most efficient and economical solution to protect
the strands and cover them long term in favourable design.

colors are available according to our color chart and can
be mixed with any pipe color for individual stay pipe design
e.g. in national colors, State colors or colors of province

As an option the double spirals are offered in one or two

Colored external spirals are of same best NOCX HDPE
quality incl. uv stability, heat and micro crack resistance
and online welded to the pipes.
